As you may know from a previous thread, i sent my newly bought amp back to car audio direct to be tested as one of the channels was playing up. After 2 weeks of being there, they sent me an email to say its been tested and no fault was found. I was abit hesitant, as I must of tested EVERYTHING it could of been to prove it was the amplifier. I rang up to pay the delivery costs, and I spoke to the guy on the phone. He then mentions it may be my headunit pre-out that may be faulty, to which I replied I had tried both pre-outs (front and rear) and the same problem still occured. He then suggested BOTH pre outs may be faulty, so I said the headunit was bought about 2 months ago from them so I may need to send it back.

Well, I received the amplifier today. And to my suprise, it works. First time I wired it up, everything is working perfectly. Now im thinking CAD may have fobbed me off so they wouldnt have to pay the delivery charges? Im guessing they are a reputable company, but I cant help but think they have lied to me. What you guys reckon I should do? I spent £11 sending it back to them, and £7 for the redelivery..

i doubt mike and the guys over at cad would try it on like that, they havent built up a reputation for customer service by trying tricks like that

Just seems weird how mysteriously everything works, even though I havent touched or changed anything in my car..

thats how most companies work tbh, somethings faulty youve gotta pay to send it back

at least they fixed it :y:

if its DOA im sure the company should refund you all costs of postage, as its not your fault?

maybe.. but most places just dont work like that, especially mail order

probs a law somewhere to do with "distant sellers" or something

but in my experience if somethings broken / unwanted, youve gotta pay to send it back to them

It does seem odd that it wasn't working when you received it, but works when you got it back from them... but if they seem positive there was no fault with it, not much you can do i'd have thought?

Couldn't hurt ringing them up though, say it didn't work before, but now it does and you haven't changed anything. See what they say to that, but changes of getting delivery costs refunded is low.
