as i lay in my bed an idea flew into my mind...

im 17 driving test next week, all i can think is about cars, i have a corsa b atm total crap, im going to wait till january for my 1 years no claims then...

buy a BLACK vtr for about £2500
insurance is 1600 in my sole name, 1 years no claims, third party

1600 spreaded over 11months about £193 a month with around about £300 deposit

then this is what i would like to do...

white alloys

http://www.topgear.co.uk/acatalog/4x_17_inch_Team_Dynamics_Monza_R_White_with_205_40 _17_tyres.html

saxo's can support 17's yeah?

then

lower 40mm all around
tinted front and rear lights
white 8K HDIS or HIDS* (bright front lights)
white undercar neon
white bucket seats
nice exhaust
induction kit
little roof spoiler
tinted windows

do you think this will look to chavy or not
cos i really dont want it to:/

i think about this everyday,
do you think it will look ok?

Stop fucking slating and help the guy!!

17's lowered 4mm no chance!!

lower 40mm all around - yeah thats an ok height consider 50mm aswell!
tinted front and rear lights - smoked rears tinted fronts good combination
white 8K HDIS or HIDS* (bright front lights) - just keep the standard ones tinted as mentioned above or get black angel eyes
white undercar neon - not the best things to sue but could look ok, but maybe to chav!
white bucket seats - love them always have get back retrimmed same?
nice exhaust - magnex!
induction kit - speak to kamracing on here!
little roof spoiler - keep the standard VT spoiler!
tinted windows - just tint back 3 looks good!

as for alloys as i mentioned some nice white VTS rims!

http://i301.photobucket.com/albums/nn52/envi_x/joeyscar.jpg
orr some white 15 inch team dynamics pro race 1.2's ;)

whats the fascination with white vts alloys
there so basic:/

wallsy
13th June 2008, 11:54
Id say ditch the neons, and go no more than 16inch wheels, 17s might look quite big on a saxo, thats just my opinion though, at the end of the day its your car, do what you want to do. :y:

Saxo_Scott
13th June 2008, 11:55
subtle is your friend, dont chav it up. gives other saxo drivers a bad name

But they look the tits...

And they may be basic, but at least they don't scream "I'm a chav lets go Morrisons and rev it" like neons do, but at the end of the day your choice.

Just expect to get a lot of "yo bruv, nice neon innit, you like me dual twin exhausts on my derv?"

That dont add up. Last year I was paying over £1600 and my installments were much less then £193.

betty02
13th June 2008, 11:56
Basic but look amazing you not agree? Either spend 300-400 quid on some decent alloys or get them sprayed up for £100? if not less

Other options but get 15's!

Team Dynamics Pro Race 1.2

Ok so we have established neons are going under your car, but only to get run over good!

Right black car with white wheels is amazing, you can go up to 17's without archwork despite what people say it's been prooven, BUT i really wouldn't i'd stay at 15's or 16's and ive listen enough sets in the thread, or the ones you posted first but in 15's?

Question... Whats your beef with this newbie? Give him a break.

'Rytin lyk dis tryin 2 mek im luk lyk a chav' does not make you look cool. It makes you look a cock. Especially when he has said in his first post he doesnt want to make his car look chavvy.

Hi mate,

First of all, welcome to saxp, there are quite a few nice people on here, a couple of cocks here and there as you would of seen, and then there is the really nice people such as betty02, keep your back against wall when talkin to him though ;) :homme:

If you have a look around the website i'm sure you will agree that big alloys on saxo's dont look good. Keep to 15's or under imo.

Before you start modding you need to pick a theme you want to go for.

Heres one or two:

Euro Smoothed fogs, expensive alloys (deep dished etc), lowered, no crazy body kits, euro is more about what you can take off the car than what you can put on. Euro is all about the 'smooth' look.

Bodykits Used to be in fashion a while ago, big silly body kits, big exhausts, lexus lights etc. Now its frowned upon by most people including car enthusiasts.

Subtle The most popular theme on this website. It seems as everyone does it. As you can probably guess the 'subtle' theme is doing modifications that dont stand out and look well on the car. Such as smoked lights / lowered / dimmer grill etc. No body kits or lexarse lights

Rally Slag Rally slag is where you go for pure performance, you dont care about looks. However if you do it right you can have a rally slag that looks amazing. The most important mod for a rally slag saxo is to get the car as light as you can. Strip the car out, no back seats, only one or two front seats (buckets), harnesses, good suspension set up, 14" alloys (no bigger than 15", 14"s are best for performance).

Once you picked a route you wanna go down, try stick to it.

As for neons, they only look good on very low saxos IMO. I've been there, had them, binned them.

White/black theme looks really good imo but dont go for it unless you are a cleaning freak. Black saxo's look really nice when they're polished and waxed. And as for white wheels, you should be cleaning them everyday and have a good sealant on them.

Hope this helps you mate.

I wouldnt spend more than >>>4000<<< on your vtr + insurance mate.

My beef with him is nothing lol...

He said he doesn't want to make his car look chavvy yet, he thinks neons and stuff would be 'subtle'? Just pointing out to him that it's not subtle and is chav to the max imo.

He doesn't have to take one bit of notice to me, just pointing out to him that if he doesn't want to be deemed a chav, don't have neons in all fairness.

And 17's lowered 40mm, unless he's prepared for some nice rubbage, it's not going to happen without archwork.

Calm it down Paul. It's a forum... most of the stuff posted here is opinion based
