Is there any point in paying to get a motor bike license before your 21. Im 18 btw and have always wanted a bike :P and since its started to get sunny it makes me want one more :zainy:.

Got a few questions

Is it true that you cant get a bike more powerful than 33/34 bhp or restricted to 33/34bhp? Whats the 0-60 ect like on a bike with 33 bhp?

It will cost about £400 to do a 3-5 course and you will get a license a the end if you pass ?

What happens went you turn 21 do you need to pay £400 to go on another course or do you just do a test?

Cheers for the help guys :y:

this is what happened when i took my test but that was 8 years ago and may be subject to change now- if you take your test you will be restricted to 33bhp/25Kw. this can be any bike, but restricted. 0-60 will be quite qiuck, i would of thought sub 6 seconds anyway. i took mine at 20 so i thought i would automatically be allowed a full licence/bigger bike at 21 but was told by the dvla it was either 2 years wait or 21 WHICHEVER CAME LAST so i was 22 before i got a full licence. there was an option to take a full test without no other courses but i just waited for 2 years and saved some money. hope this helps.

Depends ...
If your 17-21, and do your A2 ... your restricted to 33bhp for 3 years (i think, or 2)... which is any bike restricted, most people go for either a full powered 2 stroke 125, or a restricted 400/600.
If your 21+, and do your DAS ... you can ride anything.

If your 18, you may aswell do your A2, but do it soon before all the prices change and the test changes ... end of september i think.

Best bet is to go on the DVLA website.
