so iv just fitted a new grill. Its the newer Mark 1 grill. Can be seen in my progress thread in my sig.

Ok, so heres the problem. On the drivers side it seems to fit perfectly, but on the passengers side it seems to overlap, and theres a gap under the headlights. Not sure whats going on. Whether its just i havnt pushed it in enough, or as it isnt the grill that was made for the car, it may not be able to fit properly.

Heres some pictures of what i mean:

Drivers Side Ok :y:

Passenger Side Problems :n:

That one above is the best to see waht i mean, theres a big gap but it wont push in anymore and the end cant go in any more.

Any thoughts? anyone else done this with their grill?

is the light sitting right? cos they slot into the bottom of the lights or maybe sumit up with your slam pannel?

I thought that as well. But it doesnt seem to want to budge, i dont think i moved it when i took the grill out either.

Actually jsut thinking about it, when i bought the car, the dealer said that the car had been in a minor accident and the front wing had to be replaced.
It also came up on the MOT that the front passenger side headlight was damaged. It was replaced. It is a possibility, but it might have been done incorectly, if thats possible.
Its just started pouring with rain, when it eases a little ill go take a look.

Cheers guys

put some tissue on the part of the grill thats overlapping then put a targe flat head screwdriver between the gap and the light, try to prize the headlight upwards and push on the grill at the same time, with a bit of luck the grill will then slot in nicely under the headlight.

i did my grill a few days ago and to me that looks like the long clip under the passenger light isnt in where its supposed to, you sure the clip clipped in?

Maybe the slam panel is slightly distorted after the accident,as above try adjusting the light.

surely if it wasnt like that before you changed the grille, then it couldnt have been the crash?

is the slam panel you bought bent in anyway?

lol slap panel.. if the lights sitting right it can't be that bent.. just make sure nothing blocking it and line it up right (cos the clips slot into the lights) and push it in.

Im pretty sure its clipped in, i gave it a good push, the one on the other side clipped in with no problems.

The panel is fine, nothing seems bent, but it did come through the post, so its possible. Thing is, if it was taht, surely it wouldnt sit right in another place??

Im looking to get angel eyes next week, so if there is a problem with where the lights are positioned i should find out then.
