help please

hi all. just wondering wether you can help me, my girlfriends KA keeps cutting out every now and again always when shes slowing down or coming to a stop
the engine dosnt stall just cuts out, also the fuel and battery lights come on when this happens

any input on how to solve this or ideas on what is causing this

Sounds like a sensor issue to me. Unplug and clean them all. Then if not it could be coil pack etc.

Try the sensor's first though.

The same thing happened to my mums ka, i asked someone at work i work (a ford main dealer) and they told me that it was something to do with the throttle bodies or a sensor that goes with them.

its the throttle body pal, exact same thing happened to my pals car infront of a buch of fit as fook women!!................BAD TIMES!!

lmao thanks all. KA's just suck, then again most fords do (if not all)

i found a common faults page saying it is the spark plugs ht leads or distributor, what u guys think? coz when it happened i thought the same thing as u guys about the throttle body like the butterfly valve mite of got suck closed :y:

yep sounds like the throttle body butterfly mate!!!

just spray loads of carb cleaner into the throttle body and clean it out....

just a carbon build up (was on mine) it runs like nails for about 2 mins and idles shocking but then sorts itself out after a good blast!!!
