best thing to do is go round and ask mate, be honest and cheerful say ull give em something...
although it is illegal lol...
or just buy a mrk1 center section and just swop it for the mot :D

It is hassle changing it over though, hence why I haven't bothered getting my car decatted yet :/

My mechanic just put the sensor on another car and revved that :)

i couldn't find any1 tht would do it for me, i said if i was stopped id say i fitted the decat after mot but no one interested, basically non one believes ya. i jus bought a new de-cat from citispares for 60 quid then got it for another time. its ded easy to swap over 20 min job at most.

im not being funny - but work paid for my last service and mot
they booked it in at kwikfit to my horror

my washer jets didnt work
front tyres were cracked
needed new lambda
brakes were past limit
rear lights had no reflectors in

all this is sorted now but at the time it was an mot fail

but good old kwikfit still passed it

my suggestion is to go there with the decat - play dumb
say you never touched the exhaust

well see what happens

thing with mk2s the cat is the manifold! so for me i have a full zorst system so would have to replace it with a mk1 zorst!

but i guess at the mo still got a standard mani a w00p w00p

If you know anyone, or if you have a mate of a mate who works in a garage just ask them if they could do it for some beer money??

hassle? takes me literally 5 mins to swap over :homme::homme:

Just find a dodgy looking mot place and give him a fiver :y:

Haha love it!

4 bolts to remove and re-fit is hardly a lot of effort tbh...

I just kept my cat so i'll swap the decat-pipe back over MOT time next year :)

I have a 52 plate VTS am i right in saying that the cat is in the manifold then? and If I wanted an uprated manifold then I would have to buy a de-cat pipe and get a cat from a mk1 vts that I can put in and take out for MOT's? seems like alot of hastle

Changing an exhaust is piss, if youve got a jack, a set of axle stands and a decent socket set and/or spanner set, and maybe some firepaste your laughing. Takes about 15 minutes to change a system from manifold back, well worth having a decat for 15 minutes of your time every year
