As parking everywhere is just getting worse, has anybody dropped the kerb outside there house and converted there garden into a drive? My mums really considering this and was just wondering if anyone on here has had it done? Was it worth it? Expensive?
Thanks

It is worth it, speak to the council. I *think* it's about £750.

i agree talk to the council
Depends on the services below the pavemtn out side your house. because they have to be a certain distance below the surface, so that will vary the price

Up my bit it cost about £80 for planning permission then another £500 to have it dropped.
Worth it for piece of mind, my mint AX GTi got kicked before I had the kerb dropped, I was fuming!

In my mum n dads house they did their own drive, and then not long after the council were re-doing the curbs in the street and most of the people with drives asked for lowered curbs and they did it, although im not too sure if they had to pay.
going up there after so will ask them.

We had to get planning permission and a pre-approved contractor to drop the kerb.
You'll be able to do the drive yourself though. I still need to do mine 4 years on- I've got slabs sitting on the lawn!
