Gearbox :(

Yo Car decided to go kaput tonight gearbox died, resulting in me breaking down in the middle of a busy junction with gearbox oil on the floor. Flagged down a police man and he helped us bouce it to side of road. Anyway got aa out and got dropped of at my local performance car garage who rocks so gonna go tomorrow check the damage how much you reckon it will cost?

Well my bros is not a saxo its a 1989 golf gti and his gearbox went 2 weeks ago. Was quoted £350 to do. Hes mechanically minded and is doing it him self got a gearbox from scrappy.

Between 250-400 depending if your clutch needs doing also, that'll be with a re-con box, or as said visit local scrappy and you could get one for 50-80 then have a go yourself, they are not that bad to fit!!

gettin the gearbox fitted for 365 but im payin 500 for a full service along with the gearbox so should all be good in the hood. Hopefully lol, saxo's whod have them

lol mine blew up well shit myself! In middle of a junction just managed have enough speed to roll it down a bit for get out of way. Oil on road and everything and cause it started smoking cause it slashed on zaust thought it was gonna set on fire lol. Had a good laugh with a police guy though when he came to help us haha.
