I am looking to buy a first car and have came across a 1999 saxo vtr in blue in my area. it has covered 83k and is completely original with two mature owners from new.

The only issue is the price, which i think is a bit high at £1450.

Do you think it is worth the money?

Also what should i look out for when viewing?

Thanks for the answers in advance.

Cheers.

The insurance is a scary though at 1700 quid on mt full license. But on my provisional its just £950. I have heard rumours though that quinn direct dont charge u t0 upgrade when you pass your test?

am i right?

If you are not too clued up about cars - take someone who is, to have a good look at the car! Other options are an AA/RAC car check!

My top 10 checklist when i look at a car

1. Check body work
2. Check boot for rear damage (peeling paint) and damp
3. Check underneath the car
4. Open the bonnet and look for oil leaks. Check the oil cap for mayo (you dont want to see mayo)
5. Make sure blowers and radio is off. Start the car with you outside of the car to listen out for strange engine noises.
6. Get someone to put their hand over the exhaust and rev the engine...make sure its not firing shit out of the back
7. Check interior for damp patches...any water or damp walk away.
8. Check electrics
9. Go for a test drive...check brakes and steering.
10. On the test drive on a flat road stop the car and put it in 4th gear. Set off normally if it does not stall then the clutch is on its way out.
