Stiff Gearstick

Hi there i have a 2001 vtr and iam having problems with the gears,the car does go into gears fine but the gearstick is very very stiff between gears,the gearstick is as free as you like first thing in the morning when engine is cold,but the longer you drive it the stiffer and squeekier the gear stick gets,any ideas wot could be causing this as its driving me and the girlfriend nuts to the extent that shes wanting to just sell the car as shes not long passed test and lacks confidence without these gears making her worse than she already is lol:wall:

Could be your clutch is on its way out or gear linkages.

Sorry forgot to say clutch was changed couple of months ago to se if that would fix problem and it didnt,

linkages matey id put money on it my 2tone was like that when i bought it but soon got it sorted likes

Iffy one like, but gear linkages sounds the most likely however it may just need oiling up? ...
