Ive had enough of it now tbh, i had my MOT today and it has failed on 2 things.
001 - offside rear inner wheel arch sub frame mounting is excessively corroded
002 - offside front wheel bearing feels rough when rotated
Got a few advisory notices as well.
I'm seriously pissed off now and i think its time to sell it, i have spent hundreds trying to get it ready for MOT & fixing it up with new spark plugs, leads, rear axle, serviced, Pre-MOT, head gasket, cam belt & now have to get someone to adjust the tappets on my car.
Ive booked it back in for tomorrow and am getting someone to weld the 1st failure & fix the 2nd failure as i have bought a new wheel bearing.
So once MOT has passed and i have taxed it at end of month i think it will be going.
Can safely say i wont be getting another french car i dont care what anyone says.

Ye but its been one thing after another, i wouldn't of minded if just the wheel bearing went but its been each month something new has happened. The car might as well be brand new with the amount of things i have changed on it.

Cheers.
Dont know yet want something around a 1.6 maybe a golf or A3 hopefully.

Even still its had 1 thing after another going wrong with it, 1 or 2 things i would be alright with but at the moment i'm spending loads each month on fixing it.

Maybe itll be alright from now on, and your gonna be selling a perfect VTR for someone else to enjoy and experience no problems...

Or maybe you'll buy the worst A3/Golf, which costs alot more than a Saxo to fix...

Every time i get in the car its like "whats going to go wrong next" i would rather not take the chance as i have had bad experiences with it in the space of 11 months. The kid before me obviously didn't look after it at all as for example the rear axle someone had previously tried to lower it messed up on it and put it back together, as i found out when i went to get it lowered.

A3/Golf gearboxes on the 1.4/1.6's are fucking shite. Expect a massive bill when that fucks up. Chances are it will cost alot more than everything your saxo has cost.
There should be a ban on these threads.

Completely understand where your coming from mate, if you have chucked all that time and money into it and it still fails the MOT. If I were you I would also MOT it, maybe tax it too and get it sold asap.
