I'm currently doing Law/business management at uni and have returned hom for the summer.
I did a couple of odd jobs last summer and worked for my dad, (in the office doing commercial property) which is impressive, if he had something for me to do other than sitting in on meetings!
Anyway... I'm sick of recruitment agencies, i just keep getting messed about no end! - i have applied for a bout 5 different jobs yesterday, i know full well that i wont get a call back from them because they are exactly that, recruitment agencies! - What ever happened to good old job hunting for summer jobs- turning up at the potato farm and asking for some work.
There are two possible jobs that might crop up but they will probably want someone more permanent! :( .....annoyed!
I doubt there is much else i can do really apart from wait and keep on trying.
Is there anything else i could consider?
Help appreciated!
Rep for excellent ideas that i haven't thought of!

I just look in local paper and browse around town for anything... in the same position now, got to pop up to some local garage tomorrow see if they'll take me on weekends.
See if you can get in with your dad again maybe? If it pays good why not. :y:

I would honestly consider moving abroad and working in a bar or something this summer. Only thing stopping me is the girlfriend and the half potential of earning alot of money in the future at my current job.

Most bar jobs are fuckers to get unless you have previous experience... or you know someone there extremely well.

If you have no reason to earn decent money I would go abroad for the summer.
I did it when I was 18,19 & 20 and had the time of my life. Went Malia twice for 6 months and then Ibiza for only 3 months but I use to work in bars & got paid nothing but got a roof over my head and food and drink in my belly.

Going abroad for the summer is a good idea. Mate of mine left to do that couple weeks ago, his gone to somewhere in spain for 6 months, said his loving every minute of it. :y:

...saving up for a new car you see! :) only need about 2.5k!
good suggestions so far- i will give rep out etc later on.
Thanks so far for all ideas! - shall certainly get myself out on the high street and looking in papers, paper round might be ok.
Would love to go abroad, but i do want to earn money and obviously going abroad my earnings would be limited.
keep the ideas coming! :)

Any special licenses required to drive a tractor? - where would you look for those kind of jobs?

depends how much work your willing to do, but builders will usually need a hand and the pay is always cash and tends to be fairly good ;)
