Saxo Wont Start (a friends not mine)

My mate ran out of petrol other day, when he filled it back up he tried starting it but it wont start.

It ticks over, just doesn't start

Any ideas?

Might be worth checking the fuel filter!
Could have got blocked by the crap at the bottom of the tank being sucked in when it ran dry!

Is it located under the car at the passenger side near rear wheel?
