Been on there for years. Rich W's effort is a bit silly. It's the exact same reg/spec as my GTI-6, just 400BHP instead of 170BHP. Felt mental

Yes. We "raced" a 130BHP Escort. They were suprised that it blew them away and thought it was an MI16. The GTI-6 already has more ponys than the MI anyhoo...

Great car the GTI-6. I have a debadged W plate Diablo red effort. No one takes any notice of it so I can park it where ever. No one tries to race. It has leather, AC and all the bits, handles superbly and is more than quick enough. Great road car

What are the engines like in the gti? Are the higher mileage ones any good? I'm tempted by a local car I've seen up for £1800, looks tidy, but its got 104k on the clock. Worthy of a runaround I think!?

The engine's are solid if they have been looked after.104k is not high 200k is high on a gti-6 engine.I have got mine up for sale in the general forsale section for £1650 ono have a look if your after one.

Basically, a load of details. All are roughly similar to drive.

Most are actually a hybrid of p2 and p3 parts

The millage is one thing, but it's more about condition.

The service book should be full of bills to show careful ownership. I'd avoid any that have had a lot of track work as they don't take too well to it.

No probs.

Doesn't look a bad deal yours. I actually think the mustang seats are more comfy than the leather, certainly have more support than my side airbagged P3 efforts
