As above, you are elgally aloud to drive it home from an MOT, but ONLY if you have proof you've just had it MOT'd and you're going straight home. Get someone who can drive other cars on their policy to drive it, and you could use trade plates if you can get hold of them

3rd party insurance is only valid if the car is insured in the first place... thats the impression I have always been under after reading the terms of service etc. May be wrong but both companys who I have been with have said the same..

when poeple in my family have bought cars, my dad insures them for a day to drive back from the place where we'v bought them. Insurance companies say its fine :y:

Surley thats after he's paid to insure it for the day though..

If he has no insurance in the first place nobody is covered to drive it unless he insures it for the day, and if he does that surley it would make sence for him to drive it rather than his dad 3rd party, unless he's under 21 then most companys don't do day insurance

As said above you work really hard for your licence and to get points on it is not worth it for 10 miles imo

If you wanna be on the safe side call the police before you go, take the officers details, so if you get pulled for it you've covered your own back.
