Wiring Amp to Battery help

Hi there,

Just wandered if anyone out there put their own amp in their car.

I can't find a dam hole to feed the power cable through the shell from the batery.

Any ideas?

yeah theres a gromit behind the center consol mate just push it through there!

little ruber plug.. Look unbder the glovebox. You will see it there.

or you can run it down the side of the car above the wheelarch and through a hole next to the door hinges.

from battery, behind the brake servo (keeping it as high as poss) then threw the bulkhead and into passenger footwell

dont put it anywher near the hinges and footwell! very bad idea, itl just cause u problems later on - and ul hav all kinds of interferance

Ok I know where you mean but not sure how. Should I just drill through the bulk head or is that a bad idea?

use the grommit thats behind the brake servo, thats a good idea. Poke a sharp screwdriver through it so you cna see where it comes through up behind the glove box

Ok have just has a look and no luck.

Now i'm thinking 106 gti's are as similiar to the saxo as I thought.

The back of the engine bay is so compact, its hard to see where anything goes through into the car.

exactly the same setup mate - just feel about, its kinda rite behind the servo

its honestly there, and its the hands down best place for it to go - so keep tryin! maybe best with sum good light on it (from both ends)

Just had a look again.

I can barely get 2 fingers behind the servo - seriously not enough room. I can feel the edge of something rubbery and if it is the thing im supposed to poke it through I might be able.

Ive take 2 pictures. One behind the centreconsole and the other where the bonnet latch cable goes through (which I stuck a screw driver through and had no luck in finding it from the other side)

There should be enough room, i have done a few cables on 106's (gti, quiksilver and a 1.1)

my grommet barely had space and my dad could only feel his way down!!

a blue peter job came in handy - taping the wire to a coat hanger and pullin it thru!!

Yes, persistance was all that was needed.

Had to take the air filter off in the end and cable is now through the hole.

Now all I need to do is earth the bugger and i'm away.

done mine yesterday fucking bitch of a job. what i done was to stick a magnetic screwdriver through the grommet from under the dash then put the power cable into the end of the screwdriverwere the bit fits, tight fit then sprayed with scilcon spray and pulled the driver back pucker done smileys/smiley4.gif

Ok now regarding wiring.

Im going to take the input from my 6x9's.

Is it ok the take the negative from one and the positive from the other?

Will this work?

As in use a high level input plug?
