its the cooling system that you need to check (ideally the temp sits just below or on teh half way line). Bleed the system and check for anyleaks/air locks.

Hey pal,

I HAD a mk1 1997 vtr and the temp gauge when stationary for a while would usually sit at 3 quaters but NEVER went higher, a few people on here have the same thing.

Its not a problem aslong as it doesnt og into the red, ad i presume when your moving it works its way back down again??

Dont worry about it, but if it does go into the red make sure you turn your engine off STRAIGHT AWAY and call someone out to look at it.

Also a air filter wont help cool your engine, that is not its purpose, could allways check you coolent levels in your radiator tho :y:

EDIT - FFS lol what is it with people beating me to the first reply spot today :wall: lol
