Foot Down = NOISE!

Every time I put my foot on the accelerator my car makes a weird high pitch noise! It's doing my head in! But when I take my foot off, it goes away.

Any ideas anyone?

But it was fine before...
It's just come out the garage because it's just had some shocks replaced but I can't see them affecting it.

omg i have the same problem, i just got my car back from citroen on thursday for a new lockset and i got in and a few mile down the road i had the same noise u describe... i got in the car later on after kaning it down the dual carridge way and it was fine.. let me know when u find out what it was/is

Could be an air leak, check your intake pipes and around the throttle body area, the garage may have disconnected something and not put it back properly, though I cant see why just to do the shocks. Worth a try though :y:

Is there a turbo fitted you didnt realise you had lol,

Only joking, is it more of a whining noise, good be possible alternator fault, sound could be radio suppression which alternators give off, does it do it all the time, when the radio is on does it get louder etc.

I dont know because I can't here it when the radio is on ;)

I do have a loose air intake, i'll check it.
