right, since last night coolant has been spurting out of the top where you put it into and i don't know why it's randomly started doing it

had to get recovered home last night because the temperatre warning light come on and coolant was dripping out even after being topped up 5 minutes earlier

i'm going the scrappies to get a new lid as the lid that's on it doesn't even screw in, recovery guy said it looks like it's from a picasso so water can escape

is it normal for the water to come right to the top of the bottle?

and would somebody with a 1.0/1.1 mk2 post a pic of their coolant bottle and lid please

need this asap as can't reallydrive it around

How soon after you start the car does the water come out? If its immediate then it sounds like your headgasket has gone.

Not long after

My old sax needed a new head and this one doesn't seem to have the same symptoms, only this problem that has randomly started yesterday when we were cleaning the engine

no probs

mine would fill up and hold water, id turn the engine on leave it running for a few minutes then it would start leaking

No, if it is leaking from the cap, either its because its overheating or being pressurised due to headgasket failure.

So how do I know if it's a new headgasket needed or just a new radiator, and tbh the radiator atm looks really tatty
