ive got a pioneer hu, alipne 6x9s (no1 needs to say anythin bout them cos they are going) , a jbl sub amp package and standard frotn speakers. all i want now is just to take the 6x9s out and get some not too expensive front coaxials wich i will just power from the hu cos i dont want to spend money on another amp atm and i no fitting coaxials is much easier than components thats y i want them. can anyone recommend any? i no boston acoustics are liked on here

why not components? they arent hard to fit atall.. just a couple extra wires behind the door cards, and they sound better

Coaxials and components are different types of car speaker.
Coaxials have the tweeter, woofer and crossover all built into one, easy to fit unit.
Component speakers have a seperate woofer, seperate tweeter, and a seperate crossover.
Components are superior due to the fact that they have tweeters which can be positioned higher up in the car than coaxials, therefore the sound stage is lifted, which is good. Coaxials have the tweeters down by your feet which is bad.
Also, the crossovers in coaxials are often just a capacitor, whereas comps have a proper crossover, which can adjust how much sound goes to the tweeter i.e. 0db or +3db.
Buy comps.
I've just fitted a pair myself which was very easy and they sound much much better than coax speakers.

headunits all have the same power just to let you know.. so the fact that its pioneer doesnt mean anything power wise
whats your budget for comps?

Have a read through that thread. I covered pretty much every angle before getting mine. Last page has some images and info on the speakers i got and how i fitted them.
