Squeaky power steering pump

I'm getting a loud squeaking noise which sounds like its coming from the power steering pump. The more i turn the steering wheel the louder it gets. Can anyone help?

my 1 does. my last 1 done it aswell. nothin to really worry about

might have to change it when it stops working tho but its a common thing

if its like wineing noise

Have you checked the fluid level?

fluid level is good. yes its like a whining noise or screeching. leaves my ears ringing when im in the house lol. has anyone managed to botch it?

If your Fluid level is fine mate, it could be your pump, I had the exact noise on the Zetec S, it was low on fluid, topped it up and it goes. I would be looking a your Pump as first call matey.

hit the side of the pump with a hammer, the bushes inside get stuck over time and this frees them. You could take the pump apart and refurb it using the guide in the section FAQ's.

I got a new power steering pump from a scrapyard and it works a treat. i say get a new 1. there easy to fit too.

i think im going to have to get a used one from a scrapyard. tried the hammer and it just got louder lol. how much did you pay so i don't get ripped off?
