Try bleeding the coolant system & have a look to at the state of the antifreeze.

or there could be a air bubble in the system as air heats up alot quicker then water.

that could be why it over heating and the hot water isnt being pushed through the pipes to heaters.
just retop up radiator and squezze all the pipes with radiator cap off and the start engine and do again and then reseal cap
and then it should be fine.
it worked on mine.
if not then you need new heater matrix

Bleed screws one on therostate housing normaly allen key bolt, the other is standing at the front looking at the engine left hand side near bulkhead on a hose looks like a bush bike valve with the cap on undo these while filling up rad until water comes out lock of run engine till warm re-ckeck level ok

Exactly same thing that was happening to mine mate two weeks ago.

As above bleed the system might be air trapped in, but I did that about 4 times and didn't do anything, I took it on a long run and it fixed itself..god knows how

if the car is overheating as they mentioned from time to time i very much doubt its the heater matrix i love where u get ur ideas from plz dont fix my car, ur thermostat may be buggered try removing it or as they said try bleeding it but ill be honest unless u flushed out the coolent it probley doesnt need bleeding also check the antifreeze, you sure its nothing simple like ur front fan doesnt come on causing it to over heat?
