sub dont work!!

my sub was working fine last week then ever since the weekend it dont wanna work, i took my headunit out yest and there was no probs with the wiring, i also checked the wiring to the sub and the amp and i cant see any probs there!

does anyone else have any ideas???

the sub is 500w and the amp is 380w.

they are a few years old tho as there where my bro's before they where mine! so i serposed it could be old age!!

could be the fuse on the amp? or fuse on power cable

yeah check the fuses in the amp and wiring.

yeah checked that and the amp is fine!! all fuses are fine!! any more ideas?

can you run speakers off the amp? i would try that may well be a prob with the sub

unscrew the sub and put it on multi-meter. measure impedance. if it shows nothing, voice-coil meltdown, if shows around 0.5 ohms under rated impedance, it's ok.

try getting it to someone to rewind the voice-coil. it costs only 10quid in zagreb, shouldnt cost more in uk

tryed speakers of the amp and they worked fine! so its the sub!music sounds pants without it smileys/smiley13.gif


o well anyone got any ideas on a good under £100 sub??
