here is a list for what you will need to get your car in 'more than decent' condition compared to the average driveway hero. obviously brands wont be mentioned as that is left for debate on effectiveness and availability. however, if people are unsure on what to get on their first purchase, please refer to this:

accessories:
- water, i mean come on
- two buckets
- lambswool washmitt
- polish / wax applicator pads
- waffle weave drying towel
- rags for windows, wiping off grease, applying metal polish etc
- paintbrush for nook and crannies
- alloy wheel brush
- hose
- microfibre towels
- interior brush
- vacuum

paintwork:
- cleanser / polish (removes oxidation, discoloration)
- glaze
- sealant
- wax
- quick detailer
- clay bar

interior:
- interior shampoo
- dash cleaner
- leather cleaner optional
- glass cleaner

other bits:
- metal / chrome polish
- bumper black
- rubber / tyre treatment
- alloy wheel cleaner
- degreaser for engine
- plastic polish
- tar and glue remover
- bug remover
- all purpose cleaner

i cant think of anything else at the moment. obviously there is the next stage up regarding machines and compressors but if you are looking for that extra bling compared to your neighbours brand new bmw etc, then this list is a must for enthusiasts. please feel free to add to the list if i have missed something out but i can only assure you that what is listed will cover most if not all your cleaning requirements. best of luck to you all :)

I'm a starter and that list is a head fuck.

It would be better with a link for each item with some info on what it does and why you need it.
