My clutch broke up this morning while reversing out of my garden, its a 98 vtr does anyone no how much of a job they are to do coz iv got a new one for £45 and gotta fit it, iv got the facilitys to do it but dont know what they are like.

well ive just brought a gearbox and a L.U.X clutch and although i havent sone it to my car ive done it to loads of my mates cars and am doing mine 2moro. estimated time. 2hrs difficulty LEMON EASY

my bros a mechanic and recon the listed time is 5-6 hours!! it took me an hour to remove the engine with the gearbox attached on my old saxo but im not takin the engine out so i dunno how long to remove the gearbox. plus il be using a ramp and engine stand and stuff......

it took me about 45minutes to take my gearbox out. gti's are easyier than vts's.

Also an added question from me. Why will i blow my gearbox up quicker? im puting an uprated L.U.X clutch in a vtr box into a vts?? my mate said it will the box quicker because something todo with the diff not being able to cope? :s
