I've got a proper tom tom, and i've got the pda software and maps also. I don't have europe on my tom tom but do on the pda software, but i don't have anything to run this software any more.
So can i save the maps onto my tom tom and use it in europe, or do i need special maps? :afro:
Danke!

He has a TomTom and also used TomTom on his PDA. The answer is - maybe. Well, you can - I don't know how it's set out on the PDA or anything but in theory if you copy all files/folders onto a memory card and put that in your TomTom, it'll load with the European maps. I just don't know if it's the same setup on a PDA as the proper TomTom system.

Can't see why not?
Pretty sure they are the same maps, so it's worth a try.

rock on! will give it a try, bet i'll break my tom tom!
Edit: A set fee is a fee. I know my way to where i'm going in germany, it would just be nice to be able to relax a bit more with the tom tom telling me where to go.

Where you staying whilst over there?
Can't you just use a spare card, incase it messes up?

As Luke said - spare card. You can backup TomTom to the PC using the Home software - copy all files off the memory card into a folder on the desktop just incase you need to revert back. Also, if it goes pete tong you can take the card out and it will run the normal, unmodified TomTom (so if you installed cams, POIs etc on a card, these won't be there).

Exactly as EH said.
It's the better option Alex.
