AlexR

you can fit over 45 litres in a tank quite easily.

Think the mk1 and early mk2s might be 35litre tanks.
Peejous

you've got the tank which is around 45litres but then you also have the neck etc. which i think roughly has 5 litres. im guessing you were running on fumes :n: lol

This copy of the saxo spec http://www.dur.ac.uk/d.r.thornton/saxo_tech_spec.pdf says 45 litres. Extra probaly would be in the filler neck! Or a garagy with a dodgy guage!

I put £65 in the fabia last time i filled up, thank fuck it lasts over 500 miles lol
Costs over £55 to fill the saxo, won't run on normal fuel!
At the end of the day if you put in £25 it's only gonna last half as long as £50 worth of fuel, just fill it up and be done with it.

You are going to do the miles though lol unless you're selling the car ;)
And it's healthiest for the fuel system if you keep the tank full. An empty tank acquires condensation which then goes to the bottom of the tank(water is heavier than fuel) which then goes through your fuel system. A full tank has no air in it to contain water. That's why if you leave a car parked up for ages you should always leave it with a full tank.

You use more fuel carrying all that extra fuel you've filled your car up with in weight.
I only ever put 20litres in at a go, unless im going on a motorway trip and cba with the gamble of "do i stop at this services or shall i see if theres another in 10 miles"

All the more reason to save where you can.
It all evens out, if your going to the petrol station more frequently theres not as big a price jump, than if you go monthly. Not to mention the petrol prices are so varied depending on where you go.
Im paying £1.15.9 atm and live in the city centre so i have no need to carry around a full tank of fuel.
