Driving home from work after one of the worst nightshift I have had
Pulled into a petrol station to get some supplies and my engine started to rumble but just thought it was my exhaust catching on my under body which the previous owner had tie wrapped so thought no worries

Got within 200yds of my house on a hill where I live heard a loud bang, felt like I had run over a massive rock and my car stalled, tried to restart it but it just made a spinning sound but did n't want to start up again

Luckily only round the corner from my house and also a member of the RAC so walked to my house to give them a bell

But because I was within a 1/4 of a mile from my house they wanted another £80 before they sent a patrol out:ouch:

The guy came and diagnosed it as a cambelt related fault and towed me to a garage

Only had the vts about 3 weeks:panic:
Cam belt kit including tensioners was changed within first week of ownership as a safety precaution by above garage
had to wait an hour for the garage to open and explains to the guy what had happened

Got a phone call later saying a bar with a bolt inbetween the tensioners had sheared off?????
but because the above garage had done the work they would replace and if neccessary rebuild the engine free of charge but would have to keep my car for at least a week

So I suppose every cloud and all that....

Still doesn't stop me from being proper fooking gutted, knackered and without a car for a week and expecting my cambelt to last more than a fortnight

Rant over

that sounds good to me.

I can see that is a pain in the arse not having a car for a week tho.
