Drove the mini from Cambridge to Edinburgh (about 7 hours) when i got home i jumped in the saxo to go to the supermarket and it felt like a supercar, was acctually scared to put my foot down, also made it feel really big inside!
Then again my mini is a 998cc and i had the saxo first, worked on my mates mini alot with him and i had big plans for the saxo so i opted for a mini as a spare car, could work on one and drive the other and vise versa, now i have 2 minis sat in my garage lol and i never got round to doing anything mad with the saxo

Vts is high insurance due to the fact that they're quick... and more often that not crumble under very little impact

I didnt buy mine.. I just got given it.. and now I'm stuck with it! haha..
Seriously though.. I bought my girlfriend and new car and she didnt want to sell her car so I said I'd look after it and although it spends 90% of the time in my garage I love driving the little thing.. reminds me of our old 205 GTi

I decided I wanted a VTS because-
1. I'd been driving a 1.5D 106 for 11 month and it was sucking the life out of me.
2. Wanted something relativtly cheap to run and buy.
3. Something that handled well and was nippy.
Thought about a VTR but the insurance was only £40 more for the year so went for a VTS.
So far I'm well happy with it, got just over 40mpg out of it too- can't grumble at that.

For the same reasons that everyone else is saying, but i had a black vtr (Paid £2000) for 4 days and wrote it off, lol, had a punto for a while, then decided i want another vtr, so a year later and i got myself another black vtr, just got to love them !!!
cheap to buy and run, loads of fun, quick, and easy to mod

must admit i got mine as a replacement for my old 205 GTi - didnt want a 106 as they were the replacement for the 205 (i know a saxo is 99.9% the same but it is a different badge)

At the time, the vts was the quickest car I could afford to buy/insure/run and fun to drive and easy to modify

same reason as i put in all the other threads asking this each week.

Just back from the workshop right now and after speaking to you about my mini this morning i went n sat in it for a while (almost fell asleep acctually) and i think im gonna put it through an MOT in a week or so once iv had a quick check over it :P
My 998cc doesnt compare to the VTS in any way shape or form but then thats not why i bought the mini! A mate of mine had a 1275 with a fair amount of work done too and his was probably not far off the pace of a VTR, all we had to compare it to was his mums 1.4 corsa lol but it was quicker than that. Although you feel like your going twice as fast as you are when your in a noisey wee mini! We are fitting a metro turbo engine to his mini next week acctually.
His is lowered and has wide 13" wheels, handles like a go kart its fantastic. Mines on 12" wheels with big spongy tyres so not a great handler, but it doesnt go very fast anyway :P

My 2 minis & the saxo! Silver is the 998cc, red is a 1275 which i'll sell one day when its repaired!
