ok...

just to confirm:

1.) power cable from battery to amp positive
2.) earth from amp negative to a metal part of car chassis (make sure good earth)
3.) remote lead from head unit to amplifier!
4,) positive and negative wire from amp to crossover
5.) speakrs and tweeters wired to crossover

lets narrow down problems...

does any lights appear on amp when head unit on?

is earth good metal..not attached over the paint work of car...i.e. scrape it down to shiny bare metal and then earth to that

is remote lead running from connect erminal on head unit..must be a constand supply coming from head unit so make sure it is in correct place...as it is the main problem if your head unit doesn't have a dedicated remote output lead!

meant to say about last bit..spelling was wrong and my edit button disappeared:

is remote lead running from correct terminal on head unit..must be a constand supply coming from head unit so make sure it is in correct place...as it is the main problem if your head unit doesn't have a dedicated remote output lead!
usually head units have a dedicated remote lead but if some don't then you have to use a different lead..not sure which one it is though!

the head unit has a remote in but no remote output could this be the problem an no light comes on, on the amp when the headunit is on

well its never going to work until the amp has a switched live to the remote. What head unit do you have? It might not be marked remote it might be marked aerial or power aerial. It will be blue with a white stripe.

try a different RCA lead! and make sure terminals in correct!
Run a temperoray lead and try it again! more than likely its dodgy..if not...dodgy amp probably

thought it would be remote lead causing first problem!

keep us updated

Yea was the remote lead to start with.
Tried a new RCA lead same problem but amp works fine with it out so im thinkin it's the speaker that the problem lies with

ye it could be the speaker that is shorting the amp out! try a different speaker connected to it

just swap them around (i.e. make left speaker the right one and vice versa) and if creates the same problem with the other RCA connector you will know its the speakers
