Hi all, i just thought i would let you know whats going on with my car.
It is currently a 1.1 saxo x. I bought it for £300 and its a brilliant tidy little car.
Recently the engine has decided to play up and it will not pass the emissions.
What does this mean? New engine. VTS Conversion is allready booked and i cant wait. I am gonna get a new set of alloys, a VT kit and respray the car. I am wondering what colour?
My mate is having his saxo green and black , i think i may do the same.
Its gonna be fun driving this "1.1" lol.

emissions failure means the gases coming out of the car are too high
You got the rest of the VTS setup, brakes rear axle etc?

'Play up' meaning what mate?
Emmisions could be down to exhaust system or the engine not running well....
How far off the limit are the emmisions atm?
I like the idea of an S conversion and that will be cheaper in the long run but its gonna take some mods to the chassis, brakes and suspension to get the car setup properly.
If your respraying then id keep it simple with one colour and dont mix/match.
Maybe a custom silver or pearl paint mate?

A VTS engine with 1.1 brakes and suspension etc would be interesting.

Citroen Saxo VTDeathtrap! unless you up-grade brakes etc . . . . would it not be cheaper to just buy a vts than kit a 1.1 to vts spec?

To sort your emissions out and to get it through the MOT you need some redex (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Redex-Petrol-Fuel-System-Cleaner-250ml_W0QQitemZ220255865637QQcmdZViewItem?hash=ite m220255865637&_trksid=p3286.m14.l1318) and your be sorted. I always use this it works a treat. Tbh i put it in every few months, just to clean the shit out.

lol, thanks for the replys.
Basically the head gasket has gone and needs re-doing so i went ahead with the vts conversion.
I have a vts front end now. The backside is still a 1.1 including the fuel pump and the bycicle tyres. and it is very interesting around corners. lol, trust me. it wasnt as hard as i expected. Just better planing would have made it easier.
