Are there many people on here who do this type of thing?

I'm want to try something different new as ifeel working for halfords all my life wont work...

Would any1 recommend Panel Beating, Paint Sprayer, Fitter and Stripper, Vehicle Technician etc as an area to go into?

How do you get into it aswell?

i was wanting to do it about 4 years ago but got told time and time again, the money isnt as good nowadays, although i do sometimes wish i ignored people as theres a lot of money to be made with fiddle jobs ;)

do it you wont regret it :)

colleges offer courses, and most will do apprenticeship courses, probablies about a 4 year course at least

Yeah id start a course like Pred said. There are a few car courses at Colchester Institute that a lot of the boys do.

My brother buys cars from the police, ones that have been stolen/recovered or damaged and does them up and sells them on and he loves it. He is also manager at Vauxhall spares aswell which he loves!!

Id go for it if its what you want to do!!

Next year I'll be doing this sort of thing in college, its an evening part time course 6-9 PM once a week.

I don't think I'll be working in that sector though, its just to gain experience.

Knew a panel beater, he lived comfortably but was made redundant a few years ago..think he got back in the trade just under a year afterwards.

the moneys not bad in the motor trade but if its what you realy want to do then the money is just a bonus i left school and went straight into the apprentiship its what i wanted to do and i have the knowledge i need to do what i want to do to my own cars.i only recently decided i no longer wanted to do it. something about being the apprentice of the best filler rubber in the workshop them expecting the same standard from you and every filler job there is thrown at you that puts you off lol
