After clotting up my Sax, I'm looking for another car, but I'm stuck between petrol or diesel, I'm really attracted to the fuel economy of the diesel but the price per litre is sky high compared to petrol.

Would I be saving any money at all, or would the expensive pence per litre cancel out what I'm saving in terms of fuel consumption?

tbh i dont think you will save that much, only difference is youll spend more time at the pump if you have a petrol, but will add up to the same imo....

Diesel = Cheaper fuel in the long run

Diesel = Cheaper Tax

Diesel = The New Cool.

I would have been paying over £300 tax if I'd have kept my 2.0l Astra Turbo (petrol)... now I am paying £120 tax on my 1.9l Megane (Diesel).

I was getting 24mpg in my old 2.0l Astra Turbo (petrol)... I've averaging 48mpg in my 1.9l Magane (Diesel).

Hope this helps!

Chris :)

If you do get a diesel you will be saving a fair bit of money.

all depends on your milage. long journeys and commuting- definately diesel. But otherwise, may as well get a petrol.
