Seems as if fuel is taking a slight decline.

I filled up car at 130.9 this morning, this afternoon it was 126.9 (Diesel) btw.

Reports it may go down a bit more too.

Saves me £3.20 a tank :)

Kelly
21st July 2008, 19:02
I put petrol in at Tesco on Sunday and it was £116.9 so 3 pence cheaper than my local petrol garages. Shame we dont have a Tesco garage more local :(

Viper
21st July 2008, 19:02

To be honest, when I worked at Morrisons I dealt with the fuel invoices.

Morrisons get it from the likes of Texaco and BP.

Isn't it a J reg or something?

Is it same as the one that was on top gear?

21st July 2008, 19:46
Both retailers said they are responding to the recent drop in the price of oil, which has fallen from a peak of $147 a barrel to $130 in recent weeks.

so its gone down about £8, and theyve SLASHED the prices by 3p. great!

shooorn94
22nd July 2008, 01:46
All the same around my area, one however has gone down by 0.5p yet is 4.64miles away from me... worth the saving?

It was stated in January that petrol would settle at £1.50 by December, I heard on the radio yesterday that it would settle at £2.00 a litre... I'm not sure I could afford that :fcuk:

Luke
22nd July 2008, 07:39
It's not gonna go down to below a pound, but I'd be happy for it to stay as it is.

Do you really wana fill up on supermarket fuel tho? its wank.

I put normal unleaded in my car when i was about to run out, just put a tenner in so i could go get some vpower. It ran lumpy as fuck.

I hate to think what supermarket fuel would be like in it.

Viper
22nd July 2008, 07:53
i have always used supermarket fuel.

never had a problem

and if anyone makes a comment like 'well, you only have a diesel' i will fucking shoot you

Luke

I find supermarket fuel OK to be honest.

Always lasts as a long as the likes of Shell etc, but is Diesel different? Lol, I don't know.

22nd July 2008, 07:54
Always use Shell.

Guess it doesn't matter though in a diesel...

When I had the Focus, I was meant to run it on 97 RON which is Vpower, I did the odd few times but it rang fine on the normal supermarket fuel most of the time.

Like I say, never had problems - ran all my Saxos on it and they are ran fine.

AdamW
22nd July 2008, 07:59

Still 1.28 this morning for Vpowwwaar

Luke

Always use Shell.

Guess it doesn't matter though in a diesel...

Got a Driver's Club card?

Saved a massive £3 last time I got my points statement through... deep joy.

Although because I filled up with 30 litres it's like 10p off a litre.

Which is still extortionate... but it's bearable. Shell's the cheapest in my area and just across the road from the spray shop and parts shop...

One of the nicest fuels going is Tesco's 99 RON but tbh I can't be arsed to drive the extra distance and pay the extra price and only get Clubcard points... which are shit.

This is a bit weird. Tonight I decided to go check out the petrol station prices in my local town where there is two essos and a morrison fuel station. Now one of the esso's had gone down to 112.0p but the other had gone up to 118.9, why the hell has that happened? They are both pretty much a stone throw from each other. However the morrison went down to 112.0p :D

Unleaded in the Uk in marked at 95ron min. Super unleaded is marked at 97ron min. So if its 97ron or above its super unleaded. Vpower and Optimax (etc) are just names of super unleaded juice.

I think.....lol

Filled up with a bit at 113.9 at Tesco's, and Shell is dropping down more... was 115.9 when I last filled up there.

Any takers on it dropping further? I think that it will probably end up settling around the 109.9-112.9 mark for a while.

Well, I hope it does.

Lol I doubt it will... if it does you have my word that I will buy a TVR Cerbera.

As if that'll make any difference to you, but it'll be a good bet to uphold if it does drop that far... :S

I'm not too sure about that ;)

When I travel north I always see the stupid petrol prices around the Farnham/Guildford area.

I.e. 122.9 for regular at the small Shell in Farnham. It's always about 3-5p more expensive than any of the others... wankers.

Also when I went to Birmingham, Nottingham & Newark it was definitely more expensive than down here. But that's two places... sure it varies in others.

I know Scotland is about 2p a litre cheaper than down here, whereas Newcastle always seems a bit cheaper too.

I was really excited to have filled up on £1.11.9 on sunday.
Its annoying though having to drive around looking for the cheapest price, at least before they were all the same (excluding texaco and places like that!)

Places of natural beauty and holiday resorts will always be rip-off prices for most / all / anything / everythin!
