Hi,
I've recently had a service on the car, ie 5 weeks ago but the engine seems to be mis-firing and being very rough when idling.
Any suggestions?
Thanks

It will probably be the idle speed control valve (ICV), are the revs dipping whilst it's Idling? If so then this will be the case. If you do a search this has come up plenty of times. Hope this helps!

Hi,
The rev's are erratic a little bit but don't really dip. Stay around the 750 mark, if I take of the Air Box around 1000.
No HT leads on this one, Coil Pack present though. Is there a way to test these?
Thanks

ICV imo... used to happen on my 106 XSi.
They are easy enough to change.

same problem with mine i think. Idle is jumpy and very jerked when accelerating hard, the engine warning light also comes on sometimes after the engines been on for a while. Im going to an ecu dignostic place as it should show the problem if its to do with any electrical part

Idle control valve plugs into the back off the throttle body where the inlet pipe of the air box goes.

Hi,
I assume its affected by oil and the breather pipe just puts it there.
It is a good idea to remove the breather pipe and do something to it so it doesn't affect the ICV?
Thanks
