I'd have the Clio if I was only driving at weekends

The Megane if I was driving up to about 30k a year

Golfy if I was driving more than about 30k per annum

The Astra if I took up bragging about power figures in the pub

Golf R32- perfect for luxury cruising at 155mph on the autobahn. Plus its built well, keeps its resale value and is classy.

A close second would be Astra VXR 'ring edition for it's sharp looks and popping Remus Exhaust...

Clio V6 third place- good fun and looks mad, but its an over-engineered and very thirsty Clio and twitchy to handle, hardly any quicker than a Cup or Trophy round track.

Wouldn't bother with the Megane 225 unless it was the F1 R26 version- which is a fantasticly sharpened track-based version.

them remus exhaust do pop. had a play with one before and on all the gear changes all your heard is BANG!!! was so loud lol. Sounded very nice. also the sound of it sucking in all that air hmmmmmm
