I have always said if you can't afford something then you don't have it, by getting loans it can be risky, can you deff pay every month, have you thought about the interest etc.

credit card with 0% interest for a few months if you are serious about getting credit to purchase modifications. still think its a silly idea though.

22nd July 2008, 15:50

save up for those mods and buy it with your own money, you'll feel better for it:y:

yay c word is still allowed.
as everyone inc myself has said though getting a loan at this point in time is prob not the best idea (not counting what you want to spend it on either) due to the sky high interests rates wacked down by most places and the chance of actually getting approved on an unsecured loan of such a small amount is quite unlikley in the current climate.
trawl ebay and classifieds there are that many saxos always going through changes that almost anything is available for them at any given time.

I just got a loan to take money away for my holiday not fussed about the credit crunch really ;)

The scare mongering only makes the so called "credit crunch" worse.
A £1000 on mods is a lot of money and you will never see that money again on sale of your car.

Everyone has to make their own choices and mistakes.
However he may have got the car for free so 1k worth of mods vts conversion or something would see it sell for more than 1k so therefor making a profit ;)
I got my gti for less than 1k as I swapped my 1993 xsi for it ;) so come to sell and will make a profit

If you really want a loan check out your own bank for one first, just so you have an idea of what interest will be as it usually tells you what you will end up paying back!! I usually go with my bank when i get a loan!!
As someone else said aswell, try moneysupermarket.com they will tell you what companies will give you a loan depending on your credit rating!!
If you have the money to get a loan then you could probably save for the mods you want to do for the car anyway and then that way you wont be paying interest back or anything!! Depends how quickly you want to mod the car aswell. If you want to do all the mods within the next month then go for it!! Its your money at the end of the day!!

after you decide on the loan you want, whether it be via bank or credit card, apply through quidco.com and actually get paid for it :p
