I paid around £130 to get a key, get it coded, and for them to find out my code from my VIN number - tbh I wasn't bothered about looking elsewhere as just wanted the key to fit/work properly and tbh didn't know anywhere else to do it.
There was a website a remember that got recommended on here for getting keys cut and coded, could minimise the cost at Citroen, by just using them to find out your code. The ntake the code and get this other company to cut it and code it for you, have a search on here, sure it's around somewhere.
IMO just pay it at Citroen, and learn your lesson to keep after your keys.
