View Full Version : WHY do they do it?

Why whenever I see a saxo 1.1 or 1.4 is it badged up as a VTR / VTS?
Same with pug 106's?
You're gay as simple as! I remember going to look at some Saxo's in Reading
(2002) opposite the stadium and all the westcoasts and furio's were badged up as VTS... WHY?????? I can spot you a mile off with your fake badge, most mk2 Vtr's and all VTS have disc rear brakes so thats one dead give away then the wheels (if left standard) are a give away, not to mention TRIM and Airbags in both sides of VTS.
And then there is the GTI replica's that are 1.1-1.4's, Ok I commend you on making the car look nice but as soon as you stick that GTI badge on.... NOB comes to mind.
Surely DE-badging would make them look less of a C()k??
I laughed at a green 106 1.1 weaving all over the road with his green tints, Halfrauds cheap and tacky alloys and lexus lights..
Me into 2nd and BYE!!
some people are Losers.
rant over :)

It is pathetic, but if that's what makes them happy, leave them to it.

Exactly, and strangely its all the ones plastered in halfrauds crap! what did they run out of rubbish they thought to add a 16v badge or VTR which if I recall "H" actually do sell them..
Thing is if they used half a brain they'd realise you can get top quality stuff off the net at cheap prices.

FOR ATTENTION OF>>>
people that have small engined cars with Higher spec badges!
Whats the point??
ur gay if u are putting VTS badges on anything other than a VTS, same principal for any other badge! Next they will be putting Lambo badges on! You dont have a VTR/VTS/GTI, and most of the people that do have em take the badges off because of gimps that dont have higher spec cars are putting badges on.
When you come into the mans world you'd realise most people like cars called "sleepers", go and look up the term in the dictionary.
I commend anyone who has a 1.1 and put a VTS/VTR engine in and you will find most of them dont put badges on.
Dont get me started on replica's.

and your name says you had 2 saxos, including a vtr and a vectra... never seen a saxo vectra.
theres a ford RS 200 replica in pickering, you think for the sake if it been a replica and not having the engine, he shouldnt show it?
white_saxo
23rd July 2008, 10:51
There is one of these "," in between the vtr and vectra. I have owned 2 saxo's a mk1 westy and a mk2 vtr, a vectra C and now a 406 coupe. and yes if it doesnt have the engine its not a rep. HE's a knock off Nigel. lmao
Havent I seen your car on ebay?

not really, because its a look alike, i dont think many people will fork out a million for a old rally car tbh.
maybe they do it purely to piss you off :A:
white_saxo
23rd July 2008, 11:01
Then its a lookalike, not a rep. Replica is where people go to the trouble of sourcing pretty much all of the parts to make it almost an identical car.
My mate went through the trouble of buying an un-used RS 500 shell with the VIN number and authentication plate and then building it almost identical.
He did not call it an RS 500 though as it had an american 5 litre V8 engine.
smiith
23rd July 2008, 11:06
well, well done to him.... some people can only afford to replicate the body, not the engine. its upto them, not you if they call it a replica.
Replica = look alike, not drive alike
white_saxo
23rd July 2008, 11:16
no replica means....
AN EXACT COPY.
Therefore it is not a replica!
white_saxo
23rd July 2008, 11:16
replica
Noun
an exact copy [Italian, literally: a reply]
smiith
23rd July 2008, 11:17
well some people cant afford a exact copy, that pugeot to ferarri was called a replica, only had a pug engine... go tell jerremy clarkson
white_saxo
23rd July 2008, 11:26
Thats right they cannot afford it!!! Yea the 406 coupe which I have, and I wouldnt make it look like a Ferrari nor would I stick ferrari badges on my car, It was styled by the same people who built the "said" Ferrari. Pininfarina.
Here is a link to one of the cars http://www.extreme-sportscars.com/360/home_360.htm its a replica kit.

well nice one, you arnt gona change the world, people will still call em replicas, so tough tits init.
when people see something that looks the same, they will still say replica.
and if you want to be really picky, there can never EVER be a replica, as no two cars are exactly the same, millemeter perfect.
white_saxo
23rd July 2008, 11:32
Well most people then do not know the first thing about cars then if they say thats a REPLICA and I can educate you and maybe learn you on spelling.

A Sentence should never start with the word And. :p

Simple really.
If you need a badge to make you feel better about a vehicle that is not what the badge says it is then you really are sad.
