people have describd the noise as whurring, aliens! and seal noises which it is quite like them all.

it happens when coming off drive, in gear or out of gear, with ignition off.. straightline or cornering... you can control the noise it makes.. put the clutch down and it starts to make the noise.. if you just put enough gas on to keep the car at a constant speed it does it. no noise on acceleration

if you put the clutch down and brake at the same time it still does it so rules brakes out.

ive seen so many variations of this lookng through the searches and almost all of them have no answer.. they just get left half finished.. i was just wondering if anyone that had this problem had actually found out what it was or what things it is..

sorry to babble on but pages of threads with this topic and no answers :)

many thanks!

I think its the same problem as my car has developed. Mine only does it on long journeys when going above 50 MPH. Whats the cost of getting the clutch release bearing done? Is it a case of a whole new clutch?

ps. Sorry about the hijack but its on the same topic

Driveshaft mate,
Had the same thing got a new clutch and it didnt fix it,
Does it only do it if the car is warmed up i know it shouldnt matter but thats the only time it did it on mine,
Also when it does it try turning to the left of the right and see if it does away,
Does it change pitch when you push the clutch in?
