ok, my saxo is making noises from around the rear axel.

i dont know how to describe the noise though, its like a clunking noise but it doesnt sound too bad.

it makes the noise when i go over bumpy bits and speed ramps.

would this by any chance be worn shocks or torsion bars, or would there be a bearing worn.

help:fcuk:

are they big bumps?, bushes could be worn on rear beam , could be fuel filter could be banging against the side of your car when going over bumps if not strapped in properly

jack it up and look at the bushes , check the shocks look at the fuel filter and anything else that looks as if it could be causing a clunking noise

if none of these, then start to worry , check your arch linings are all secure etc

Loose/broken exhaust mount maybe.

could be the dirty slag in the back

on a serious note, could be the bolts holding the rear axel to teh car, check them make sure they are nice and tight.

Check the shocks are not leaking, check the exhaust isnt hitting off the heat shields.

Could be your rear arb, mines clunking as didnt grease it enough when put my 24mm in :D

Could be the trailing arm bearing also.

see how you get on with those suggestions and let us know if you get rid of the dirty slag or not.

just to let you all know.

had my dads mate checking the car over for mot, and he discovered that the bushings had completely gone and recommended that a refurbed axle would be the best decision as the cost will be similar.

so new axle required:n:
