You will use more fuel. That will be about it really.

not so bad seeing as fuel price has dropped to 1.12.9 around my way :D but i just don't like the way it sounds

I agree, it is annoying. My old car used to do it. Mt would hover at about 1500rpm then suddenly drop down to what it should be. French cars are for the win...
