I've just bought a posi blue VTR but there is a small hairline scratch (about 3 inches long on the bonet) what's the best product to use to get rid of this?

polish it out bud, dont use tcut will ruin it, if it goes as deep as catching your nail will need a repray otherwise try wax and polishing

Yeah I saw the thread about why T-cut is bad so decided against that trouble is I have no idea on what to use instead.
I don't think it was that deep but will check when I pick car up next weekend.
If its not too deep try some meguires scratch x on it, failing that get someone with a Porter Cable or machine polisher to get it out.

Yeah works really well leave it on for about 5 mins so it dries and goes dull before you rub it off though which I didn't do the first time I used it.

You dont have to leave Scratch X, lol, its the abrasives in the stuff that makes the scratch less visible, so the more you rub, the better it gets, thats why it went the second time. :p

you need to buy a touch up pen the same couler as the car, then fill the scratch in and build the layers with thin coats untill its flush with the paint, then let it harden over night, then polish it out but itll take some rubbing t-cut is good for this, but its no good for anything else imo, this should sort you out buddy if ya get stuck theres someone whos put this up on youtube, so take a look on there.:y:
