Mine goes up to just under 3/4 & sits below the red mark it does this no matter what the weather is it depends on what sort of driving your doing around town/built up areas you won`t get so much cold air coming in.My fan cuts in in weather like this.

Yeah it's normal for it to get warmed up quicker...

Well I went straight onto a motorway, the fan didnt cut in at all even after I was off the motorway in light traffic.
It was sitting around the marker half way up my temp gauge (2001 vtr)
