Hey,

I have a Black VTR, I am currently cleaning and using:

Auto Glym Bodywork Shampoo Conditioner
Auto Glym Super Resin Polish
Meguiars NXT Tech Wax

My works car park is not that far from a factory and my car gets dusty off it off the chimneys. As soon as I wash my car and go to work and when I've finished my car is seems to be covered in fine dust? .. And is just was bad when it rains?

Does this happen to anyone else? Is there any other products that I can use?

Thanks.

Yeah happens to me, i work in a bodyshop and its washed one day shit the next.

Just give it a good wax and it shouldnt stick to it as bad, but other than that, clean it more, lol.

Blacks a cunt for dust anyway.

Lol, I tend to wax it about once every 2 weeks, but tend to just wash it once or twice a week :panic: lol.

more than enough tbh.

after work when you get home just wipe the surface with a microfibre cloth and should take the dust off easily.

Will that not mark the paintwork? I already have a few small ones and swirl marks on my black car :(

Well it can mark the paintwork if theres a few small stones on the paintwork, the best option is to give it a quick wash off, i no its a pain in the arse but if u dont want it being dusty then thats the only way around it

I usually just wash then polish mine on the weekend, leave it to get dirty through the week and do a wash & polish again on the weekend.

if the wax is good enough i dont see why it would mark, unless the dust around your area is particulary sharp

I dont think its sharp dust... I hope not lol :panic:

I just dust off my car with a cloth every day or I use Meguires Quick Detailing spray which removes any contaminates without washing the car, but in this good weather I normally just wash the car every 2nd night!!

OCD tbh :P

I clean mine and you can almost see the dust laying on it. Bloody annoying tbh! Also the other one that bugs me (excuse the pun) flies committing suicide on my windscreen too :@

Sucks to be you with a black car though...worst of the bunch!

Flies committing suicide is a huge pain, I fancy washing mine tomorrow early but after the 1 hour motorway journey the car will be covered in dust and splattered flies just not worth it tbh and it desperately needs a clean. :( :n:

you should try living up a long gravel lane. even driving down it idleing in 1st gear covers the car :(

I have this problem, i can always see dust settling on the car just after i have washed it aswell. Black is a bugger to keep clean, but looks lovely when it is clean!!

Best to use a microfibre cloth and some quick detailing spray.

Another option is to buy a foam lance or gilmour and foam the car leave for 5 mins then rinse and dry with a waffle weave towel, however if there is dirt on the car and foaming doesnt remove it you will end up damaging the paintwork.

i live on a private road with gravel and dust is a friggin nightmare, i mainly give it a good wash most days to get it off and prevent scratches ;)

Whats the best detailing spray to use?

For example I wash my car the next day its all dusty. I spray some of the detailing spray on and wipe clean?

I like megs last touch, comes in 5 litre container, but can't say i've tried many others, or used it for this purpose.

You are more likely to inflict swirls and random marks through cleaning a car with natural dust in this way than with two buckets and wash mitts.

you should try keeping a white car clean then !!!
