I have tried to help my mate take out his door pins on his Desire 1.1 52 plate tonight and had no luck. we got both door cards off and cut a hole in that sound proof stuff so we could get ours hands in but cant get the pins out. i have read the how to guide on the site but still cant get them out. i can find the little plastic socket which the pin sits in and i have pushed the pin out of the socket but the pin still isnt free so i can pull it all the way out. once i have detatched it from the socket it no longer moves up and down with the central locking but just wont pull out. anybody have any advice on how i can get it out??

:wall:

It twists if I recall correctly. If you can't be sacked with that just cut them

oh shit ive just relised. in the how to guide it says something about undoing the door lever on mk2's. do i need to undo the inside door lever and disconnect it from there :S or just twist and fuck about with the pin until it comes out?

you don't need to un done the door handle mate, i used a pair of pliers to unclip the pin from the white socket it sits in.
Got annoyed but deep breaths lol

isnt the point of depinning so you remove the whole metal rod so that a theif cant put a coat hanger from the outside and hook the rod up?

eventually got them off tonight after 2 hours of fucking about. it wasnt even us that got them out, it was my girlfriend!!! i was amazed. after she had done them both, the passenger side door wouldnt lock! so we then tried to fix that, and in the end it got fixed...by who? my girlfriend again. i cant believe it! we mayaswel of give her the keys and the screw driver and let her do it all from scratch lol.
anyways, job done!
