Hey,

I'm new to this forum and have just bought (though not collected yet) a mk2 saxo vtr, or at least I hope. I'm buying from a dealer so I'm 99% sure they are correct in what they have described, it's just that this vtr has no badge along the side trim saying vtr. As I am yet to see a saxo with vtr removed from the side I didn't think this was common, and more oddly there seems to be no 'square' where the original badge would fit.

Is it common for these badges to be removed or side trim changed. If not is it possible that the dealer may have confused it with a different model. All the other 1.6 saxo's are either automatic or have vts on the side obviously!

Any information you could give would be much appreciated.

Cheers.

they will no if its a vtr or not threw the log book and they will have done a hpi check on the car telling them everything there is to no about it

If there is no square where the orginal badge would go more than likely they have been removed and smoothed over. As i think all saxos come with a badge of some sort there.

If your buying from a dealer it will be on all the paperwork anyway. Should be okay.

welcome to the forum aswell.

to be sure could check if it has rear disk brakes (vts have these aswell) obviously a 1.4 could of had a conversion but unlikely.
pepperpot alloy wheels, might have been swapped over though
it should have matching seatbelts, if the seatbelts are multicoloured then its a 1.4
few things there to check, obviously the paperwork should say.
might want to do a hpi check on it for £3 send the reg number to 88600 and find out its past

Ok cheers guys, that's helped a lot. I have checked with one of the reg plate query companies and all checks out thank god.

Looking forward to helping out myself on the forums in the future if I can!
