Well, my sub has not been working for about 2 weeks now, i know what the problem is so im not too fussed about it.

My question is that, while i have not had my sub, i have been liking the sound of what just my front speakers and 6 x 9s have been giving out. My sub was always a bit too loud anyway but just having all the speakers on, it sounds really good.

Should i upgrade all my speakers and ditch my sub and amp? If i do upgrade, what should i upgrade to?

if you like how it sounds then by all means upgrade all the speakers and amp them up cant go wrong really. i also read if you put 6x9s in a box the sound or bass is better so could try that

Upgrading the speakers will give you a better sound and get a new amp to go along with it. If you fancy a bit of bass after then a single 10inch sub I'm sure will do the job if set up for SQ.

Yeah, i was thinking of a 10inch sub if i wanted a bit more bass. We will have to see what happens, im getting my sub fixed tomorrow so i will decide then if i dont want it anymore!!

What makes of speakers are good at the moment then?

I'm not a fan of 6x9's but I'm guessing that you would like a set still.
JL Audio, Hertz, DLS, Rainbow etc... are all very good. Depends what sort of budget you have in mnd as well.

Have you thought of doing some door builds and running a set of 3-way comps up front like a 6.5inch / 4inch & Tweeter.

Maybe, but to be honest, i dont want to play around with the car that much, ive done quite a lot to get it running properly and get the exterior how i want it, which has been quite expensive!!

I will have a look around and see what i can find :)

good idea imo

rk_audio on here makes door pods

the 3 way comps will give you nice defined bass, mids and hi's all running off seperate drivers. the crossover also eq's them for precise freq responce

some can be expensive though, depends on your budget. but if you dont want the sub, then these should be all you need!

Or

Not the cheapest I know but they will do the job as Ashleyp mentioned above.

go for the rainbows if you can afford them

allthough the lower rainbow models tend to have worse built crossovers which makes tweeters seem rather harsh apparently

neither will be bad quality though

I would rather have the rainbows as well.
