Well went out tonight with a drive with some friends, and came up to a bend and went round the back end slid out and spun out hit a tree then a road sign and rolled the car compleatly mangled, i wasn't even goin that quick maby 55 at most.:wall::wall: No one was badly hurt which was amazing cause the car was mangled. Lying in bed right now still shaking but cant sleep so thought i'd come on and let you know, was rather terrifying only been driving a week.

Tha't sunfortunate mate =( And, while i'm not doubting your driving ability.. the first month after you pass is the hardest. I almost crashed so many times =(

Pat_Vts
5th August 2008, 02:15
well you were over the limit cos there was alot damage and you rolled must have been some speed for a 1.1 mate no offence

Liam_C
5th August 2008, 02:21
Yea well was 60mph speed limit, yea sort of flipped up on to its side cause went in to a ditch knocked over the sign and it acted as a ramp sort of. None taking i realise i was a compleat idiot i swore i'd never put anyones life in danger but it happened as i guess accidents do.

Pat_Vts
5th August 2008, 02:23
oh dont worry mate we all have had our mad moments and near misses and not so near

55 round a corner after driving for a week?

60 is a limit not a target :p

You learned like me, I wrote my car off the first 2 weeks of driving, just got to get to know the car a bit better

Glad you're okay though, need pics too

Liam_C
5th August 2008, 02:34
Was't doing 55 round the corner but slid out just after and was accelerating to early i guess, twat i know just relived no one was hurt for the most part everything went ok.

Pat_Vts
5th August 2008, 02:38
i wrote off my first car in 17 days after passing my test

most lads do

hence high ins premiums

Liam_C

Pat_Vts
5th August 2008, 02:41
na but

if u had more exp u may have avoided the crash such as putting ur clutch back down and steering like fuck and avoiding the objects

its happenend to me twice in the VTR back end coming out, not going to happen in the VTS though im not as reckless as before

Liam_C
5th August 2008, 02:46
Did try my hardest but sliding in a really gravely layby isn't even ideal conditions even for that, any way enough of me trying to justify it, whats done is done. No more i can do about it.

GabbaKid
5th August 2008, 02:49
My back end slides out all the time and I shit bricks but just steering into it.
The other week It happened to fast to do anything in the rain and I bounced up a curb.

Goldsax
5th August 2008, 04:29

Ashleyp
5th August 2008, 07:36
"wasnt even going that fast - about 55"

what speed limit were you in though?

or was it country roads.. in which case imo anyone who puts their foot down on a country road without proper experience of driving / knowledge of the road has no common sence atall

also: pics or it never happend :P

EH_Fella
5th August 2008, 07:45
Don't forget, a car full of people could have helped cause the accident - trying to show off, being distracted by everyone talking, not used to the heavier car and altered breaking distance/acceleration required. I remember having a car full of people in my 2l Ibiza for the first time, it was pretty unresponsive to the accelerator - but its one of those things you just have to learn. Alledgedly, a mates' brother wrote his car off the same day he passed his test. There's no proof though, so you might still be winning ;)

KamRacing
5th August 2008, 08:01
Front wheel drive cars get power understeer so go too fast and you will go straight into the hedge .
Panic and lift off and you will induce lift off oversteer and you will spin/ enter the hedge sideways or backwards.

Ha i still win 7 days, have the feeling this is not the best competition to be winning tho lol.

I win.... wrote off my fiesta.........11 hours after my test.
Thats right... not even a day!

But i feel your pain mate.... too fast around a corner in the wet and ended up in a field with the radiator about 5 meters behind me and a mate in the back laughing his head off!

I was lucky though... .didnt tell insurance just registered the car off the road.
Did you tell insurance?

A lot of new drivers crash mate, take it as a learning experience.

As already said 60 is the limit not a target!

On the day my mate passed he blew his tyre in a petrol station on a kerb then put his mams metro backwards through a hedge.

His Dad is a Chief Inspector for the local fuzz, he told the story by saying "Dad I got a puncture and put the car through a hedge..." his dad just assumed the punture caused the accident. Jammy sod!

Head up son.

Alot of new drivers crash their cars, especially saxo drivers.

Just try buying another saxo and get back on the road. Also if your going to drive with friends in the car and music high etc. Get used to the distractions before you start putting your foot down ;). I've got one mate that's always shouting and pointing at things proper randomly when in the passenger seat.

You'll find that now you've crashed this car, you'll be much more careful with your next :y:

ps.
Pictures please ;)

Steer into the slide and floor it, thats the only way you will get out of a slide in a fwd car.
Rwd i so much better you just balance it on the throttle with no lock.

Will happily admit, i had one as soon as i passed.... now i feel i'm a good driver.
Having a bump teaches you to really respect a car and what it can do. Especially when you realise that everytime you fuck about, your putting your life aswel as others in danger.

I had a brand new Corsa C, I was coming back from Blackpool with some friends.I was just coming off the junction for Reebok stadium and some knob in a fiesta just stopped for no reason, I pulled around him then he startedchasing me.I got to the round-a-bout and lost control, the car fish tailed and I couldn't control it.I ended up on the traffic island and a foot away from a set of traffic lights.I totaled my front suspension and 2 alloys. I paid for the work to be fixed wich was around £700 from vauxhall.

I had a mate once who pulled my handbrake up while going round a corner, it was near xmas the road was proper icey and I had passed my test all of 1months!(nearly 5 years ago now) needless to say we went sliding out of control, luckily I ended up on some ones drive way and not into another car :x (he walked home)

I had a major accident back in 2002. I paid for the work to be fixed wich was around £700 from vauxhall.

why did you lose control because someone chased you??

if you were driving correctly it doesnt matter what he was doing.

Sorry, i wasnt having a dig at everyone. I just hadnt read a single person say 'i crashed because of someone elses actions'.

If it was someone elses fault then fair enough, i was aiming it at the ones saying i lasted a day before i crashed, x amount of write offs in 3 months etc.

All those come down to a lack of experience from the driver, no one else.
