Before you chop the remote cable to put in the remote from the amp onto it, what does it actually turn on and off because my mate cut his and wired the amp upto it but forgot to connect the other end back into it that he had cut through in the begining. his stereo still turned on and off with his ignition, but his battery died.

turns the amp on / off when the headunit is on / off

otherwise its just constantly running and draining battery

yes i know about the amp and hu..
i cant explain what i mean properly lol...

my mates hu and amp both go off with the ignition, so it must be wired correct?
because the way it is wired is.. the remote from the amp goes into the remote cable on the head unit. but thats the only remote cable im aware of and it doesnt go back into the other end of the iso, so i dont understand how the ignition is actually controlling the hu and amp. is there 2 remote cables on some iso's?

the hu should have a red and yellow wire, 1 is live all the time to save the setting and the other is to turn it on with the ignition. there should be another wire that is blue that the amp remote should be wired to, this works when the HU is on!

if you have taken the remote turn on from the red or yellow wires make sure you get the correct one as one will be on all the time and the other will only work with the ignition, this is the one that you need!
